10 Facts About the Impact of Moisture on Rock Wool (Stone Wool)

Even if moisture gets in, the performance of stone wool remains unchanged! 10 factors to consider [Materials available].

Water is essential for human life. However, for buildings, water can often cause significant problems such as mold, decay, and corrosion. In construction projects, it is important to choose insulation materials that do not absorb moisture even when exposed to water. One such insulation material is stone wool. One of the key properties of stone wool insulation is its water-repellent nature. The PDF document introduces "four ways stone wool ensures health and safety," as well as the "versatile power of stone" incorporated into ROCKWOOL products. Please download and take a look. [Effects of Moisture on Stone Wool (Partial)] - Does not absorb moisture even when exposed to water - Does not absorb moisture in high humidity environments - There is a reason for its water-repellent nature - Allows water vapor to pass through - Importance of airtight structures *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Piping and Insulation: Eight Facts About the Sustainability of Rock Wool (Stone Wool)

Circular products that do not contain greenhouse gases or ozone-depleting substances! Recyclable materials [Materials available].

Stone is a recyclable material that does not contain greenhouse gases or ozone-depleting substances, such as CFCs, HCFCs, or CO2. It also does not contain harmful flame retardants and can be infinitely recycled for use in new products. It is a durable insulation material that can utilize a high content of recycled materials. It can also be produced from secondary raw materials (materials that are recycled and reused). It is a sustainable solution suitable for construction projects. In the PDF document, we introduce "Eight Facts about the Circularity of Rock Wool" as well as the "Versatile Power of Stone" incorporated in ROCKWOOL products. Please download and take a look. [Some Facts about the Circularity of Rock Wool] ■ Stone is a recyclable material ■ Does not contain greenhouse gases or ozone-depleting substances, such as CFCs, HCFCs, or CO2 ■ Does not contain harmful flame retardants ■ Circular products ■ Durable insulation material *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Case Study Presentation] Examples of Custom-Sized Insulation Used in Solar Power Plants

We introduce a case of producing custom-sized wired mats tailored to the pipe sizes at a solar power plant!

We would like to introduce a case where wired mats and pipe covers made of ROCKWOOL Group's stone wool were supplied to a large-scale solar power plant. This solar power plant has a capacity of 2304 MW and is currently in operation, with the commonly used technology being trough solar power (92%), of which 70% utilizes saltwater tanks. Other technologies used include tower and Fresnel (8%). To reduce the construction costs and waste volume of this project, we produced custom-sized wired mats tailored to the size of the piping. 【Case Overview】 ■ Year: 2007-2013 ■ Owner: Abeinsa, Sener, Idom ■ Country: Spain ■ Region: Southern Spain ■ Sector: Power Generation *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Distributing the results of a 3-year practical test on corrosion under insulation (CUI)!

Fifty percent of all hazardous situations occurring in industrial plants are caused by aging degradation mechanisms such as erosion, corrosion, and deterioration.

Water is a major cause of unexpected heat loss, system shutdowns, and leaks due to Corrosion Under Insulation (CUI). ROCKWOOL has conducted practical tests of its pipe covers using the unique water-repellent technology WR-Tech at the BASF Antwerp plant in Belgium, which produces various chemical products. We are distributing the test result materials! What is WR-Tech? - Supports high temperatures up to 250°C - Low leaching substances: Complies with EN 13468 and ASTM C795 - No silicone oil used - Resistant to cracking from external impacts Using stone wool with water-repellent technology, it has a low water absorption rate, achieving excellent quick-drying properties and durability. It is also characterized by very low levels of soluble chlorides. Products utilizing WR-Tech include pipe covers and wired mats. *For product details, please refer to the product catalog or contact us.
